Richard Mille has released a new collection of watches called the RM 07-01 Intergalactic, which combines the brand’s signature use of high-tech materials and futuristic designs with a unique style of gem setting. The watches feature cases made of Carbon TPT with 5N red gold accents, and are some of the most compact models offered by the brand, measuring 31.4mm in diameter and 11.85mm thick. The cases are protected by sapphire crystals and held together by grade 5 titanium screws with Nitrile O-ring seals, providing 50 meters of water resistance. 
What sets the RM 07-01 Intergalactic watches apart is the unique style of gem setting that adorns the external cases. Diamonds are set into the Carbon TPT cases and secured by 5N red gold prongs scattered throughout their surfaces. Setting diamonds into Carbon TPT poses unique challenges, as the material must first be machined using diamond-bit milling tools, and the diamonds must then be secured into the case by gold prongs inserted by hand. Many of the prongs do not secure a diamond, but are there for aesthetic purposes to create the watches’ star-filled galaxy aesthetic.
The RM 07-01 Intergalactic collection consists of four models: the Bright Night, Dark Night, Misty Night, and Starry Night. Each model offers a slightly different take on the same core aesthetic concept, with different ratios of diamonds to prongs set into their cases. The Bright Night version features a middle caseband in red gold rather than Carbon TPT, while the Misty Night version features a fully set case, with diamonds covering the entire surface.
Inside the RM 07-01 Intergalactic watches is the in-house developed Caliber CRMA7 
movement, which features a baseplate and bridges made of Carbon TPT. The movement is hand-wound and has a power reserve of 70 hours. The movement is visible through the sapphire caseback, and is finished with chamfered edges and circular graining. The movement is also equipped with a variable geometry rotor, which allows the wearer to adjust the rotor’s inertia to suit their level of activity.
The RM 07-01 Intergalactic watches are available on a black rubber strap with a 5N red gold buckle, and are limited to just 50 pieces each.
